Checklist for Combuson Air and

Venng Requirements

□ Verify proper clearances around the vents .

□ Ensure that the Combuson Air Requirements are

followed that will provide sucient combuson

air for the appliance.

□ Ensure you have used the correct venng

products for Category 1 and that you have

completely followed the venng manufacturer’s

installaon instrucons and these installaon

instrucons. All installaons must be vented in

accordance with Naonal Fuel Gas Code NFPA

54/ANSI Z223.1 - latest edion and the

requirements of state or local codes. In Canada,

the furnaces must be vented in accordance with

the Naonal Standard of Canada, CAN/CSA

B149.1 and CAN/CSA B149.2 - latest edions and

amendments and the codes of the local ulity or

other authority having jurisdicon.

□ All horizontal vent runs must be sloped up away

from the water heater a minimum of 1/4 “ (6 mm)

per foot.

□ Verify that the vent terminaon clearances are

followed.

□ Verify that there is adequate combuson air.
